Research Interests: Heterogeneous Catalysis , Energy chemistry, and Organic synthesis

Dr. Liufs research involves the study of heterogeneous catalysis in the petrochemical industry and synthetic fuels and chemicals from biomass, coal and natural gas and particularly in the C1 chemistry (Fischer-Tropsch synthesis). A major of his research is to develop an understanding of the underlying processes of surface-catalyzed reactions. Recent research has also foused on the development of supported gold catalysts for novel organic reactions.
